A book has been launched to commemorate the life of a man who helped rid Singapore of tuberculosis in the 1950s and 1960s. Dr JMJ Supramaniam, who was Deputy Director of Medical Services in the Health Ministry, was responsible for making the tuberculosis vaccination compulsory and for banning smoking in public places.
